Adolescent and Pre-adolescent Counseling:
Prior to my training as a therapist and counselor, I was a High School teacher for 6 years. I have always enjoyed working with and interacting with that age group. I think part of what propelled me into this field was wanting to help my students more than I was able at the time. These age ranges are very tumultuous, often filled with struggle and pain, but this time in their lives can be the most fruitful. Long before habits and ways of being become solidified, they are still exploring and discovering who they are. Sometimes if we look carefully we can see the raw and pure aspects of their individuality attempting to break free, sometimes in very chaotic ways. I have found that a little intervention at these early stages can have a profound impact on an individual's life.
